CCPS Board
The CCPS Board is made up of senior leaders from of our member organisations who became board members either by election or co-option. You can read a short profile of each current Board Office Bearer and Member on these pages. The Board also has a number of committees, and the Chairs of these committees are highlighted in individual profiles.

Angela Bonomy
CEO, SENSE SCOTLAND
Angela joined the CCPS Board in the summer of 2022. She started at Sense Scotland in September 2019 and was appointed Chief Executive Officer in April 2022.
Angela is a law graduate and has experience of working in the public, private and third sectors. After graduating, she moved to Nottingham for 10 years, working for Boots the Chemists in a variety of roles.
She then returned to Scotland and worked for the NHS and Scottish Government, leading much of their sensory impairment work, before joining the National Deaf Children’s Society as Scotland and Northern Ireland Director.
John Booth
MANAGING DIRECTOR, HILLCREST FUTURES
John has over 18 years of experience at the forefront of the social care sector. Managing Director of Hillcrest Futures, a Scotland-wide social care charity delivering a range of support services to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities.
John is a Fellow of both Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). He recently graduated from Robert Gordon University, completing the Master in Business Administration programme with Distinction. His Dissertation focussed on sustainable approaches to social care for the 21st century and beyond.
Hazel Brown
CEO, CORNERSTONE
Hazel is the CEO of Cornerstone, one of Scotland's largest providers of care and support to adults and children with autism, learning disabilities and complex care needs across Scotland.
Hazel has spent her entire career working in health and social care, starting as a frontline carer before training as a mental health nurse and later achieving a postgraduate degree in Community Care from the University of Glasgow. She’s currently enjoying her second term as a CCPS Board member.
Dr Ron Culley
CEO, QUARRIERS
Ron is Chief Executive of Quarriers, one of Scotland's leading health and social care charities, providing care and support across Scotland in a huge variety of service areas.
Prior to his role at Quarriers, Ron was the Chief Officer of the Health and Social Care Partnership in the Western Isles. He spent five years on the islands, supporting better integrated service delivery and partnership working. Ron also has a first-class honours degree and PhD in Politics.
Viv Dickenson
CEO, CROSSREACH
Viv is currently the CEO of CrossReach, having previously served as the Director of Children and Family Services. She holds an honours degree in Psychology from St Andrews University and has qualifications in counselling, management, and leadership.
With 10 years of experience in operational management roles in Prison Service England and Wales, Viv joined CrossReach in 1995. Her career there spans various areas, including Postnatal Depression, Addictions, Mental Health, Homelessness, and Children and Family Services, as well as strategic planning.
Sean Donachie
DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF ADULT SERVICES, CAPABILITY SCOTLAND
Sean has been working in the sector since 2003 with Capability Scotland. During this time he has had several roles across the charity and is currently Deputy Director of Services, responsible for overseeing the operations for all of Capability Scotland’s Services, Improvement and Quality, Customer Engagement, and Inclusive Communications.
Sean has experience working across both children and adult services in senior leadership roles within social care, health, and education.
A current member of Capability Scotland’s Executive Team, Sean’s passion is ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support to meet and exceed people’s aspirations and desired outcomes. Sean is a strong advocate for making the sector a better place and ensuring that both people in receipt of support, and those working in the sector are valued and appreciated.
Sue Freeth
CEO, VOLUNTARY SERVICE ABERDEEN (VSA)
Sue joined the CCPS Board in October 2023. She is the CEO of VSA, one of Scotland's largest and oldest city-based social care charities.
Sue has enjoyed a 40-year career in leadership and management in historic UK charities. This has included time spent in the boardroom of large grant-making campaigning and service-providing charities, working in social care, mental health, justice, education and skills development.
She has also served as a director and trustee on several Scottish charity boards.
Janet Haugh
CHIEF EXECUTIVE, RIGHT THERE
Janet is Chief Executive of Right There, a 200 year-old charity working across Scotland to prevent homelessness, one person at a time.
An accountant by profession, Janet has spent her career in both the public and third sector. She has also volunteered for most of her adult life, including as a Trustee for one of the largest social care charities in the UK, and feels her vocation is to serve people and communities.
Janet is passionate about demonstrating the value and maximising the impact of the third sector and has worked on a number of impact assessments for the charities she has worked for – including North Lanarkshire Leisure, Mary’s Meals and Right There.

Annie Mauger-Thompson
CEO, SACRO
Chair of the Criminal Justice Voluntary Sector Forum (CJVSF) Executive Committee
Annie is an experienced leader in the public and voluntary sectors. She has worked across the UK leading NGOs, charities, membership bodies and as Executive Director with the Chartered Institute of Housing in Scotland.
Annie joined Sacro as Chief Executive at the end of March 2020. Sacro works across Scotland to provide paths to positive change for people in the justice system, victims or crime, and people in crisis.
Lorraine McGrath
CEO, SIMON COMMUNITY SCOTLAND
Lorraine began her career in NHS mental health before moving into social care in 1990. For the past 25 years she has held executive/senior management roles.
Since 2012 she has been Chief Executive of Simon Community Scotland. Dedicated to combatting the causes and effects of homelessness in the West of Scotland, the organisation employs almost 300 staff and reaches more than 8000 people each year.
Lorraine is passionate about delivering impact and empowering the people who receive support, alongside the frontline staff supporting them, to achieve the very best they can.
Gary Meek
CEO, BLUE TRIANGLE HOUSING ASSOCIATION
Gary brings transformative leadership honed through diverse roles, including his tenure as CEO of Glasgow Council on Alcohol. With a passion for social impact, he spearheads initiatives tackling homelessness and addiction, driving positive change in communities. His strategic vision fosters collaboration, leveraging resources to provide vital support services and housing solutions.
Gary's dedication to holistic well-being is evident in his advocacy for marginalised populations, empowering individuals to rebuild their lives. Through innovative programs and partnerships, he continues to champion resilience and empowerment, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion and progress.
Amanda Miller
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICES, EILDON HOUSING ASSOCIATION
Chair of the Housing Support Enabling Unit (HSEU) Executive Committee
Amanda joined Eildon Housing Association in 2015. In her current role, she is responsible for Eildon’s housing management service, regulated care services and community projects.
Amanda has worked in social housing since 1988 and has held various positions across housing providers at officer and senior management level with experience of managing social housing and a range of care and support services. In addition to her CCPS role, she is a Board Member of Prospect Housing Association, based in Edinburgh.
Sara Murphy
MANAGING DIRECTOR, COMMUNITY INTEGRATED CARE
Sara is the Managing Director at Community Integrated Care, one of the UK’s largest social care charities, providing care and support for people with learning disabilities, mental health concerns, and complex care needs.
Before joining Community Integrated Care, Sara held several roles at Cornerstone, most recently serving as Director of Service Delivery. With a background in operations and service delivery, she brings deep sector knowledge and leadership experience.
Over her 27-year career in health and social care, Sara has worked across the NHS, private sector, and most significantly, the third sector.
She is passionate about innovation and driving positive change — especially when it comes to improving the lives of those who both use and deliver social care services.
Neil Richardson OBE QPM
CEO, TURNING POINT SCOTLAND
Neil Joined the sector in 2017 after 32 years’ experience working in the public sector, most notably in policing. He has been a member of CCPS’s Board for six years.
Neil has unique experience of leading complex strategic change at organisational and national level. He holds an MBA (Distinction) as well as degree and diploma qualifications in Social Science and Criminology. He was elected fellow of the Chartered Management Institute in 2004.
Neil has also served as a Non-Executive Director of the Scottish Government since 2019.

Dr Sam Smith
CEO, C-CHANGE SCOTLAND
Sam is the founder and CEO of C-Change Scotland, a not-for-profit organisation supporting disabled people to live the lives they choose. The organisation was initially established to support adults with learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
Sam's interest in disability and social justice was inspired by her involvement with an inclusive youth club as a child. She has championed the values of inclusion throughout her career. Sam wrote the book Human Rights and Social Care: Putting rights into practice, published in 2018.
Fiona Steel
NATIONAL DIRECTOR FOR SCOTLAND, ACTION FOR CHILDREN
Fiona started her career as a social worker and joined the charity in 1997 as a Senior Practitioner in the fostering team.
Since then she has held a range of positions and joined the senior leadership team in 2008 leading service delivery for children and young people across Scotland.
She is a passionate advocate for embedding The Promise to care experienced young people, and chairs the subgroup on ‘community confidence’ on the Age of Criminal Responsibility Advisory Group.
