Research into the impact of charging for housing support services

The HSEU commissioned research into the way local authorities charge for housing support.  The resulting report highlights concerns that support providers have about the transparency, consistency and fairness of the approaches being taken in some cases.  Particular concerns have been expressed about the way two local authorities in Scotland require providers to administer and collect charges themselves.  The HSEU is aware of the work which COSLA is undertaking to review its guidance on charging for non-residential services and now has opportunities to contribute to this work.
