COVID-19 guidance for care at home and supported housing

The Scottish Government issued a  letter on 16th December for care at home, housing support and supported housing services to clarify how the latest guidance for the public in the light of the Omicron variant should be applied in these settings.

The letter confirms that the general advice to limit gatherings indoors to 3 households in people’s homes applies to supported housing.

Whilst it is not suggested that planned gatherings over the festive season be cancelled the letter does acknowledge that judgements need to be made about risks associated with proceeding in the light of high transmission rates and any instances of known infection.  Another factor, or course, is the impact of transmission rates on staffing levels as well as the general advice to work from home if possible.

The SG has set up a webpage which  will be kept updated as guidance is amended for care at home / housing support / supported housing: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-minimising-the-risk-over-winter-letter-to-care-at-home-sector/
