Sharing Knowledge, Improving Practice, Changing Lives

Posted on Friday 12 March 2010

The knowledge management strategy for social services - Sharing knowledge, improving practice, changing lives - is now available to download from Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS).

The strategy has been developed by NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and the Institute for Research and Innovation (IRISS) with input from a variety of organisations across the sector, including the Workforce Unit. The development is being supported by a Managed Knowledge Network (MKN), which the Workforce Unit contributes to. More information on our involvement is available here.

The strategy vision is to share knowledge to equip and empower staff, service users and carers, to improve service outcomes. The strategy will support the workforce to engage in CPD through providing access to information and learning, and encouraging the more organised use of of evidence based practice.

A key component of the strategy is Social Services Knowledge Scotland (SSKS), which is being developed to provide access to research and knowledge resources. Promote the use of SSKS in your organisaton using the newly available promotional flyers.
