An information event for managers and supervisors

This is a joint SIRCC, Workforce Unit and SQA event which aims to offer support to:

  • Social services managers whose staff are preparing for and undertaking SVQs.
  • Senior managers who might have limited knowledge of SVQs

Louise Gaddi (Qualifications Manager) SQA Scotland will focus on:

What is an SVQ? How do you prepare your staff for SVQs? How do you select candidates? What is the right award? What is underpinning knowledge and why is it necessary?

Judith Midgley (Director) Workforce Unit & Caroline King (Learning and Development Manager) Carr Gomm Scotland will focus on:

How do you support your staff whilst they are undertaking the award? How do you get the best out of the relationship between the candidate, assessor and you, the manager?

Maureen Anderson (Assistant Director: Workforce Development) Scottish Institute for Residential Child Care (SIRCC) will focus on:

How do you ensure the transfer of their skills and knowledge into practice and decide upon their CPD and PRTL?

This is a free event with a maximum of 20 available places. Please use the online booking form, or alternatively contact Laura Weir on 01786 849752.
