Workforce Development Network
What is the Workforce Development Network?
The Workforce Development Network brings together people from across the voluntary
sector social services workforce to share ideas, knowledge and practice and work
together to help influence change.
Sharing ideas, information and practice…
The Newtork holds quarterly meetings – one in Aberdeen, and one in the central belt.
Recent topics have included the skills agenda, developing induction programmes, and
a meeting with representatives from the Scottish Government. All meetings provide
an opportunity for networking with colleagues.
Influencing policy…
Network members are also invited to contribute to Workforce Unit responses to
relevant national policy consultations or working groups, either via email, telephone
or at specially designed events.
Why should I join?
Network members receive emails with information and updates about Network events,
consultations and other invitations to get involved in influencing the voluntary sector
workforce development. Network events will enable you to meet with colleagues from
across the voluntary sector to share practice and ideas. Network members take part in
as many or as few events and consultations as they like.
