This report was commissioned by the Workforce Unit and was undertaken by the Scottish Centre for Employment Research, University of Strathclyde to assess the impact of the re-tendering of social care services on workforce morale and commitment in the voluntary sector.
Effective recruitment and retention of a competent workforce is critical to developing and improving on the delivery of services that are increasingly funded through competitive public sector contracts.The Workforce Unit commissioned 'Rock Solid Social Research' and 'TL Works' to undertake a research project into possible recruitment and retention lessons from beyond the social services sector.
GEN was commissioned by the Voluntary Sector Social Services Workforce Unit (VSSSWU) to develop a picture of the size, nature and qualification status of the voluntary sector adult residential care workforce in Glasgow and the Highlands and Islands.
GEN Consulting was commissioned by the Voluntary Sector Social Services Workforce Unit(VSSSWU) to undertake research into the current rate of staff turnover within a sample of voluntary sector social service organisations. The research was intended to establish the current rate and explore the reasons why it happens.
