Help With PDF FilesAre you having trouble viewing or downloading Portable Document Format (PDF) files on this web site? This page provides guidance on how to successfully access these documents. Do you have Adobe Reader installed on your computer?You must have Adobe Reader installed on your computer in order to view files saved in PDF format If you don't have this program, use the link above to download the free version of Adobe Reader. If you already have Adobe Reader installed please check to make sure you have a reasonably up-to-date version of the program. To check the version number open Adobe Reader on your PC, then select Help > About... from the menu bar. Compare the version number with the latest version of Adobe Reader on the Adobe website. 2. To view PDF files in your web browserClick on the link to the PDF file you want to view If your computer is set up to automatically open PDF files in your browser, you will be able to view the file when it has finished downloading. If this process takes longer than a minute, you should save the file to your computer's hard drive instead. 3. To save/download PDF files to your computer's hard drive or a network driveUse your mouse to single right-click on the link you want to download A list of menu options will appear with a "Save Target As..." (in Internet Explorer) or "Save Link As..." (in Mozilla/Firefox) option. Left-click on this option to save the file to your computer. If prompted, select a preferred download location. Once completed, double click on the downloaded file to view it. Apple Macintosh users should hold down the control key and click on the link so that a list of menu options appears. From this menu, choose the option to save the file to your computer and proceed as above. 4. To print PDF files you have opened in your web browserUse the File > Print command on your browser to print the document If printing does not occur, or only one page prints, click on the Adobe print button (underneath your browser buttons) to print out the entire file. 5. Does your organisation's firewall allow the downloading of PDF files? When you click on the links to PDF files, do you see only gibberish? Your web browser is not configured to automatically open PDF files. You must download the files to your computer (as described above) and then open them using Adobe Reader. |
