Providers & Personalisation

Introduction

The principles of choice and control have always been important to voluntary sector providers and personalised care and support - in the broadest sense of the term- has been part of provider practice for many years.

However implementing such a significant shift in policy, practice and systems across the whole of social care will inevitably pose challenges for the whole social care sector, with particular challenges for providers. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Responding to changes in commissioning.
  • Working with the individual as purchaser.
  • Developing marketing approaches gathering market intelligence.
  • Evaluating and reporting on individualised outcome.
  • Positive risk taking.
  • Changes to systems.
  • Working with employees- understanding the implications of personalisation for the workforce.
