CCPS response to fitness requirements consultation

In May CCPS responded to the Scottish Government's consultation on changing the regulations regarding the fitness of provider, managers and employees in registered care services. CCPS' response, which can be downloaded on the right, highlighted the ambiguity of the proposed changes to the regulations, and questioned the way in which the regulations seemed to suggestion conviction information could be used in isolation to decide on the fitness or otherwise of staff. The CCPS response called for guidance to accompany any changes to the regulations, and volunteered to assist the Scottish Government in developing such guidance.
