CCPS gives evidence to Government Inquiry into older people's home care
Posted on Friday 21 August 2009
The Local Government and Communities Committee of the Scottish Parliament is conducting an inquiry into home care for older people, with specific reference to the procurement and tendering processes by which contracts for services are awarded. The inquiry has been prompted by a recent BBC Panorama broadcast highlighting poor standards of care by the home care companies awarded contracts in competitive tendering processes, including the use of e-auction. CCPS was called as the first witness to the inquiry on 3 June, and had been gathering information and evidence from its members prior to the session. All evidence sessions are available to view on the Scottish Parliament's Official Report pages (see link on this page).
