CCPS, in collaboration with the Housing Support Enabling Unit and the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, has submitted a brief response to the consultation on the principles that will underpin the new care standards. The response reflects a wide spectrum of views from across our respective memberships and overall supports the draft principles. However, we conveyed a considerable level of disagreement over the principle of ‘compassion’ and some confusion over the principle of ‘personal wellbeing’. Members also raised concerns about the absence of the language of ‘rights’.
CCPS and partners will be working closely with the Care Inspectorate and Healthcare Improvement Scotland in the New Year to develop the generic and specific standards that will sit below these principles and will be looking to actively involve interested members.
