CCPS has submitted comments on the Care Inspectorate’s draft complaints procedure for complaints about registered care services. We support the introduction of more frontline resolution of complaints, and the use of mediation where appropriate and all parties agree to it. We also support a review stage for the complained against.
We asked the Care Inspectorate if they have any plan to review the procedure governing complaints about the Care Inspectorate itself. It would seem an opportune moment to look at both procedures and would allow for a discussion of the difficulties that arise with Care Inspectorate processes in the context of service inspections and grading results.
