The winter 2009 Workforce Development Network will focus on the following topics:
The Continuous Learning Framework
Fiona Clark / Wilma Patterson, Scottish Social Services Council
The Continuous Learning Framework is designed to help your organisation enhance it's existing systems, and create the conditions required for workers to be the best they can be.
This session will take a practical look at how you could use or adapt the framework to support recruitment, supervision, appraisal and workforce development. There will also be time for discussion and for sharing tips and ideas with colleagues.
The Workforce Unit is also currently developing an audit tool to help your organisation "plan for learning, development and improved practice" - find out more at the network event.
Qualifications Requirements for Care at Home Managers
The Scottish Social Services Council will start registering managers of a care at home services from December 2010. The SSSC is running a consultation with the sector (November 2009-Feb 2010) about the qualification requirements for these workers.
The Workforce Unit is keen to hear your views and make sure that voluntary sector interests are fed into the consultation.
Care Accolades
Does your organisation have what it takes to win a Care Accolade? We will talk about how voluntary sector organisations can get involved in the competition, and what you need to think about if you are putting together an application from your service. We will also discuss how the Workforce Unit can support you to create your application.
