Collaborative Working

This one day workshop will consider the developing areas of Collaborative Working and aims to enable service providers and purchasers to work more effectively together.It will be based on well researched presentations that develop the understanding and implications of emerging good practice based on practical experience and will focus on:
- Benefits and Risks of Collaboration
- Options for the Structure of a Successful Collaboration
- Practical Considerations for Successful Collaboration
- Key Issues in Tendering as a Collaboration
The workshops will provide a balance between case studies and checklists for good practice and will provide an opportunity for discussion.
The training day is aimed at:
- Managers and Board Members from Service Providers in the Voluntary and Independent Sectors who provide Housing Support and other Support and Care Services
- Commissioners who are taking forward public sector procurement reform.
Trainer
Sam McLean has been an independent management consultant, facilitator and trainer since 2001 and formerly worked for 30 years in local government. He works in the public and ‘independent' sectors on Housing Support, Social Care, Community Health and Corporate issues.
He also works as an associate trainer and consultant for CIPFA (the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) for whom he leads in Procurement Reform and on Governance and Scrutiny.
Sam has delivered two series of workshops before for the Unit in 2008 and these have been very well received.
