Regional Seminar, Dundee – Welfare Reform and its impact on people with care and support needs – December 2012

The aim of this regional seminar, led by Bill Irvine was:

  • To provide an awareness/overview of changes coming in, in 2013.
  • To highlight implications for people with support needs and to facilitate discussion around those aspects which are not set in stone – with a view to highlighting these for the UK/ Scottish Government
  • To prompt discussion about how welfare reform is already affecting, or may be about to affect the way care and support services operate eg a changing focus of support work/ changes in the funding of care or support/changes in care charging
  • Highlight good sources of information and other resources – where can individuals or their care / support workers go to for advice on an individual basis e.g. CABx
