Responses to the consultation on Housing Support for Homeless Households

The Scottish Government has published its analysis of the responses it has received to its consultation.  It will consider the responses further before drawing up draft regulations and presenting them to the Scottish Parliament for approval.

January 2012

Local authorities will have a statutory duty to assess the housing support needs of homeless people under section 32B of the Housing (Scotland)Act 1987 (inserted by the Housing(Scotland)Act 2010).  Local authorities will also have a duty tomake provision to meet the housing support need assessed.  The Scottish Government is now holding a consultation about the regulations neededto underpin these requirements. The deadline for responses is 11thApril 2012
