From Monday 27 April, local Hubs will distribute PPE supplies to the whole of the social care sector where normal supply routes have not been successful. These hubs will extend their provision to include all social care providers (registered with the Care Inspectorate), and unpaid or family carers and personal assistants.
The local Hubs will be staffed Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm and will be in touch with providers in their areas about the new arrangements very shortly. In the meantime if you require help with PPE supplies you should contact the PPE Support Centre (through the Triage Helpline) with details of what you require and your order will be forwarded onto your local hub for collection or delivery. The helpline number is 0300 303 3020 and is open Mon – Fri 8am – 8pm; Sat 9am – 5pm; Sun 9am – 1pm. The triage helpline will continue to act as a first point of contact until 11th May.
The PPE Support Centre, through the Triage Helpline, will also remain the route for short-term immediate small quantities of PPE for providers if a local hub is unable to assist.
Please continue to let HSEU know your experience of using the local Hubs to access PPE supplies.
