In 2017/18, Coping with Complexity developed new perspectives on leadership and change within systems. Its seminar format with well-chosen speakers attracted leaders from all sectors of the social care world, including funders and commissioners, public and third sector leaders, policy-makers and academics.

In 2018/19 we designed another cross-sector programme to develop leadership responses to complexity, transformation and reform in social care. The programme – aptly named ‘Embracing the Chaos’ – provided a safe, facilitated space for leaders to explore individual, shared and systemic challenges within health and social care.  Embracing the Chaos was entirely self-directed, with participants shaping the programme to address these challenges and to meet their own developmental goals.

Participants came from a range of roles, organisations and settings across the health and social care sector but they all had one responsibility in common: leading change in complex systems.

More information and learning from the programme is available via the below links.

January 2019

We are holding our first open ‘non-event’ in January, inviting guests from the world of health and social care to to respond to and help inform our lines of enquiry, share our challenges and be open to learning alongside us. The ‘non-event’ will feature a gallery of creative ideas and exhibits to provoke thoughts and encourage conversations. Our exhibition catalogue is available to download below – watch this space for further updates to follow!
