The Scottish Government’s Self-Directed Support strategy sets out ambitious plans for the future delivery of care and support in Scotland and aims to drive a cultural shift, with self-directed support becoming the mainstream approach.  Third sector providers currently support very significant numbers of the people for whom self-directed support represents a new opportunity for greater choice and control, and are already playing a variety of roles as approaches to personalisation are rolled out in Scotland.

This event will bring together policy makers, local authorities and providers to discuss and debate the key issues. Topics will include:
•    Implementing the Self-directed Support Strategy: an update on progress and future legislation from the Scottish Government
•    Emerging practice: a review of the differing approaches to personalisation and self-directed support across Scotland, and the roles that providers are being asked to play in implementation
•    Productivity, efficiency and outcomes – what can we learn from the research?
•    Overcoming potential barriers – an opportunity to discuss and debate providers’ experiences of SDS to date, including identifying the key challenges and potential solutions.

Full programme details will be published shortly.
