This free half-day event, to take place on 12 October 2016, aims to explore the opportunities that Self-directed Support can bring to people with convictions. The event will focus on the benefits of risk enablement and an outcomes based approach to support provision for people with convictions. Attendees will hear from speakers experienced in risk enablement and self-directed support, and will be invited to workshop these concepts while considering the further implications of offending behaviours.
This event aims to support participants to gain increased awareness, knowledge, skills and confidence in:
- the importance of promoting risk enablement in ensuring better outcomes for people with convictions
- how to balance risk management and risk enablement for higher risk groups
- the opportunities that personalised support provision can bring to people with convictions
