Consultation: redesigning the community justice system

The Scottish Government recently consulted on three proposals to redesign the community justice system: An enhanced CJA (Community Justice Authority) model, a local authority model and a single service model. Many thanks to all those who contributed to the preparation of the CJVSF response. Our response was submitted to the Scottish Government at the end of April can be read here. It highlighted the need for a co-ordinated approach, with the third sector involved as an equal partner. The CJVSF also met with staff from the Community Justice Operational Unit of the Scottish Government to discuss the Consultation and the implications of the three proposals for the voluntary sector. The Scottish Government’s response to the consultation is due out later this year.
