On 7th May 2015, the Community Justice (Scotland) Bill was introduced to the Scottish Parliament, to take forward the legislative change needed to establish the new community justice model in Scotland. This builds on the Scottish Government’s response to the Future Model for Community Justice in Scotland Consultation, published on 15th December 2014.
The Bill and associated documents are available to download from the Scottish Parliament website.
Under the new model, the Community Justice Authorities (CJAs) will be disestablished and new community justice arrangements will be put in place at both a national and a local level. A brief summary of the plans set out in the Bill is available in the CJVSF briefing on the Bill.
