CCP Scotland

About CCPS

CCPS was established in 1997 under the auspices of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO). It has been an independent Scottish charity since June 1999.

The association was established to provide a focus for the common concerns and interests of voluntary organisations providing care services in Scotland, and to provide them with information and support.

Since its inception, CCPS has worked on a wide range of issues affecting service providers, including:

  • funding and contracting
  • regulation of care services
  • Changing Lives
  • public service reform
  • Best Value
  • workforce issues
  • user involvement
  • quality management systems
  • the ‘Joint Future’ agenda
  • direct payments
  • the Adults with Incapacity Act
  • services for ethnic minority communities.

CCPS represents and supports its members on these and other issues by:

  • participating in government consultation exercises
  • sitting on a variety of advisory groups and committees
  • liaising with members and officials of central and local government, members and committees of the Scottish Parliament, and a range of other agencies, organisations and associations
  • organising conferences, seminars and briefing sessions for members
  • convening working groups of members on specific issues
  • conducting and commissioning research
  • publishing a range of policy briefings, discussion documents and conference reports
  • producing regular news and information bulletins

CCPS is a member of EASPD, the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with a Disability. We are also members of SCVO, the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations, SSEC, the Scottish Social Enterprise Coalition and SCDI, Scottish Council for Development and Industry.

CCPS works in partnership with local provider forums and alliances in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Midlothian and Highland.
